Evolution is a hoax

Evolution is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on mankind. I challenge anyone to watch this whole series and tell me they still believe in evolution at the end of it.

part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTJo7IHuzQA
Stormsingersays...

You can scrape the bottom of the intellectual barrel to come up with these moronic videos for as long as you like. But until you can design, build and power a computer with prayer, I'll continue to put -my- trust (not faith) in the scientific method. And this ain't it.

THERE IS NO CONTROVERSY over whether or not evolution takes place. The only controversy comes from religious fanatics trying to teach their superstitions in our science classes.

shinyblurrysays...

You can stick your fingers in your ears and close your eyes all you want..there is a controversy and the only ones who dispute that are the ones who just buy into it without doing any real investigation. Also you've missed the entire point..this isnt an anti-science video. Science supports a young earth creation and I am all for it. This video debunks evolution, which is a hoax perpetrated on the public, taught in schools as if it were fact, and we believe it. I believed it. Every geologist knows there are problems with these dating methods.

If you watch some of the other videos you'll find out things the scientific community doesn't tell you like:

They find human remains in all levels of the strata..layaers that are supposed to be hundreds of millions of years before human beings.

They find polystrate fossils all the time, which are trees that poke through hundreds of millions of years worth of layers.

Fossils and stalactites don't take millions of years to form..just decades.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. So if you want to pretend there is no controversy, feel free. I know your entire world view hinges on it. The evidence however speaks for itself, and its out there for anyone with an actual curiosity to find.

No, it just means some translations aren't very good and should be avoided. Personally, I haven't seen a bible without that phrase so I don't what translation you are referring to. In any case, I could translate a bible and fill it with errors. It doesn't say anything about its content..it just says something about the people who translated it.

>> ^blackoreb:
"Get thee behind me, Satan" is a classic line, but most English-language Bibles fail to include the phrase. If there are inconsistencies between Bibles, does that mean God is a hoax?

Skeevesays...

I realize I'm feeding a troll here but...

@shinyblurry You need to do some research that isn't listening to a preacher who's sole purpose is indoctrination.

1) Provide an example of one human fossil found in strata determined to be millions of years before humans. There is no documentation of this that hasn't been debunked. The fact you bring this up proves that you don't even know your own side, as this argument has been terribly embarrassing for creationists.

2) The polystrate fossil claim is a straw man. Yes, there are fossils that cross multiple strata, but these examples always show evidence of rapid sedimentation/deposition. Not every layer takes thousands/millions of years

3) What does the speed of stalactite production have to do with the age of the earth? Another straw man.

There is no controversy. Really. Do some real research, stop repeating already debunked garbage that came from your preacher.

This preacher is trying to reach your addled brain because evolution has made a monkey out of you

Here's one, and remember it only takes one to disprove the entire theory:

The Geologist

Complete skeleton found Carboniferous Macoupin County, Illinois

Here's another one

Scientific American

Human skeleton in Silurian rock Franklin County Missouri

There have been quite a few tools and inscriptions and bones found in all the layers, even down to the cambrian.

Here's a hammer: http://www.genesispark.com/genpark/hammer/hammer.htm

Sorry but you can't just dismiss polystrate fossils. There are quite a few going through supposed millions of years of strata.

We've been told that stalactites and fossils take millions of years to form..it just proves what i am saying:

http://creation.com/stalactites-do-not-take-millions-of-years

Here's a fossil hat:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v17/i3/fossil_hat.asp

Now go run off to talkorigins to try to find a refutation

I'm part of this community whether you like it or not and I won't be going away. Labeling me a troll isn't going to make me stop posting the truth. One day, people will thank me for opening their mind up to how they've been lied to every day of their life and indoctrinated into a world system thats literally trying to drag them straight to hell.

Blurry... here's a tip: If you think a proven scientific FACT is dragging people to hell, you are already brain dead.

Edit: Also, I would very much like to know WHAT THE FUCK does stalactites, strata, carbon or radio dating have to do with evolution?

Ryjkyjsays...

OK, I watched it all and I have to say I am completely unmoved.

The only people who contend that radio-carbon dating is an exact science are people who don't know anything about it. The fact that carbon dating is inaccurate does not change that fact that it's the best method we have to try and determine the age of anything that precedes culture. You know what else is an inaccurate science: cancer treatment.

There are all sorts of reasons that carbon dating can get messed up, they are not hard to research, and no one out there, no one, is saying that they never get messed up. But it is still an infinitely better estimate than trying to determine the age of the Earth through someone's interpretation of scripture.

We need to use estimates all the time to try and paint our picture of the universe as we know it. If you look up the Andromeda Galaxy on wikipedia, wikipedia will tell you that the Andromeda galaxy is 2.5 million light-years away. The fact is, that's our best estimate. It might be only 2 million light-years away, or it could even be 4 million. We use our best estimate and our best understanding of science as it works at that time.

I'm curious, does the bible say anything about the distance of the Andromeda galaxy from Earth?

bareboards2says...

I'm sorry. I don't actually want you to "go away" go away. You are indeed part of this community.

You are armored in faith against reason. All these lovely bon mots are bouncing off you. I was tired and gave in to a fit of pique -- everyone is clearly having a fine time, I don't have to read any of it.

I apologize for my inaccurate remark.

Love to read your responses to the latest kitten video, shinyblurry. I'll look out for them.

There were about a hundred proofs in that series from all areas of science..typical of someone intellectually incurious, you pick one out and focus on that ignoring all the others..don't you get it..if even one of those are correct the theory of evolution can't be.

@shinyblurry

There is no cognitive dissonance in accepting evolution and believing in God. It's not a sin to use our gifts to gain a more accurate understanding of reality. Mistakes will be made along the way, but the more we learn, the more we can appreciate the amazing universe we live in.

My unasked for advice is to stop trying to save people from science, it's really not helping anything. At best it comes off as ignorance and at worst it seems intentionally deceptive and almost cultish. It also makes it harder to have sane dialog between those who do believe and those who don't, because it creates a framework that confirms that people who do believe are in the category of "crazy".

If you want to understand the nature of creation then look around you. The whole universe is evolving. Everything is destined and seemingly driven to transform into something else. It's a beautiful and awe inspiring thing and I do believe there is a creator for it all.

Faith in God is not dependent upon disproving evolution.

I limit my religious related posts to about one per year .. so think about it.

shinyblurrysays...

I'm not here to save people from science. Science agrees with a young creation. I don't have anything against science, I have something against lies. I take it you're some manner of Christian..well here is where you're wrong. The theory of evolution and the bible are totally incompatible; they are at war with eachother. If you believe in one you can't believe in the other. There is no room for millions of years in a six day creation. The moment you try to doctor the bible to fit evolutionary theory you might as well just throw the whole thing away because it all falls apart. And that's the goal of evolution, to write God out of the picture. To say all of this could have happened without Him. If you believe in evolution you don't believe in the God of the bible, period.

It's only writing God out of your picture, not mine. The bible is a lot of things, but one thing it was not meant to be was a scientific accounting of anything. I am still perfectly able to love and worship God and yet still understand and accept evolution, so .. you're wrong.

I made my post under the assumption that you were capable of rational thought, but you've proven that that's not the case. I never said anything happened without God, I said understanding what DID happen gives me greater appreciation for God.

Well .. that's two posts now, see you in 2013.

shinyblurrysays...

You have a schitzophrenic faith, my friend. I would call you my brother but it doesn't appear that you know our Lord. It appears that in your picture you are ashamed of your Lord. So allow me to enlighten you for your edification:

The six day creation is literal, it is not allegory. You can tell this simply by the grammar and syntax used. The word for day used is "yom", which appears over 400 times in the bible and only ever refers to a day as a 24 hour period. You may recognize this from "Yom Kippur". Do jews celebrate the day of atonement for millions of years?

The literal account of the 6 day creation also is integral to the ten commandments. We have the Sabbath day as a day of rest because God rested on the 7th day. Do we rest for millions of years on the Sabbath? So already you've called God a liar, you've made the commandments to no effect, which undermines the messiah prophecies..and the entire thing is turned on its head.

We have confirmation from Jesus Christ Himself, that the account is literal. He refers to a literal creation, adam as the first man, the flood and many other OT accounts as fact. You reject that and you reject the testimony of our Lord. If you don't believe in a literal 6 day creation then you should throw your bible in the garbage because that is what the theory of evolution has filled your head with.

You have the gall to impringe on my witness and imply im crazy..hey, at least im internally consistant. You've had to twist your mind into a pretzal to believe what you do. You've fallen into apostacy because of your lack of faith. Evolution is a stumbling block for you, and will remain so until you trust in the Word of God. Here's my Word for you:

21 Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?"
23 And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."

Shiny, the video doesn't need refutation. I wouldn't argue with someone who said the moon is made of green cheese either. The subject that everyone is discussing, if you haven't noticed, is whether or not you are a reasonable person, one worth arguing with.

shinyblurrysays...

I'm a very reasonable person..it's the quality of the conversation here that's really the issue. I could sum up 90 percent of the comments:

you're stupid you believe the bible omg!
troll!
the bible is stupid!
god is stupid!
EVOLUTION is RIGHT and YOURE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you think I am being unreasonable, it's mostly because its hard to take some of you seriously..it seems like the average age around here is about 16 or so, and the average IQ doesn't seem to be much higher..but I hold out hope that someone with a brain will show up eventually that can see that these questions run a little deeper than the shallow end of the pool you're playing in

That's interesting for me on a personal level because, shortly after taking my S.A.T.'s, I received a letter in the mail from Mensa. It turns out that it wasn't my 151 IQ that caught their attention, but rather my ability to string 51 exclamation points together at the end of a sentence in order to drive my point in the essay home. Shiny, I noticed in your last comment that you frame the issue as being evolution vs you, by which I assume you mean your belief in the Bible.

Now, I also noticed your comment earlier where you said that the earth was literally created in seven days. I just have to know, do you really believe that everything in the bible is literal? Or is Genesis one of those things that isn't allegory and some parts of the Bible might be?

I'm only asking in order to better understand your position.
